-We know we can’t wait for March 29. Earlier this week we had the chance to participate in a group interview with Lindsey Shaw & Ethan Peck from ABC Family’s “10 Things I Hate About You.”

SO-M: You two have such a great chemistry on screen. Is that something you found right off the bat, or was it something that just progressed over the first ten episodes?
Ethan Peck: What do you think, Lindsey?
Lindsey Shaw: I definitely think that was a progression. I don’t know if any of you can tell, but Ethan is a man of few words, and when I first met him, he was true to his persona. He was just silent and observant with his backpack and his hi-tops, and so it was interesting getting to know him. I think the first time we actually had a chance to sit down and talk was episode seven of the first season when we were doing that rooftop scene. Remember when we were outside until midnight?
Ethan: Yes.
Lindsey: That’s really the first time our characters actually talked on the show, so I guess that was okay, but it’s really kind of mirrored the communication up until that point.

SO-M: For you, Ethan, Patrick is probably the most mysterious character on the show and we don’t know a lot about him. In these next ten episodes, are we going to get more of a look inside him and what his back story is?
Ethan: A little bit. You’ll start to see some clues as to what his life is like, but it’s really being kept in the dark.

SO-M: In the first ten episodes each of your characters kind of only interacted with a few of the other characters. From what I’ve seen in the new episodes, there’s a lot more interaction with the other main characters. What was that like getting to work with everybody else?
Lindsey: It is so wonderful. I feel like Meaghan and I work two different shifts on the show. I always come in for the morning, and Meaghan is always there late at night, and so really it’s this whole other storyline show, everything that you never get to see that you just have no idea about, and when you finally get to pull some of those in your direction and interact with them, it’s just fresh and new and it brings something new out of you. It brings something new out of them. It just feels really fresh, so I really enjoyed. I especially enjoyed working with Nicholas Braun. I got to work with him quite a bit this season, so that was so awesome.
Ethan: Yes, I didn’t really get to work with too many other characters, but there were scenes that there were more characters in that I was included in, and it’s so exciting because I love everybody so much in this show and get along with all of them so well, and we’re all itching to have more scenes with each other, as Lindsey said, like with Nicholas, with Chris, or with Meaghan, and I’m hoping to see a lot more of that in hopes that we have more seasons to do.

SO-M: The cast seems pretty close. Can you give maybe a random fact about a few of your co-stars or each other?
Lindsey: Ethan listens to classical music in his trailer all day, every day.
Ethan: No, I don’t.
Lindsey: Yes, you do.
Ethan: Chris Zylka speaks Russian.
Lindsey: Meaghan bakes banana bread for people, for the crew, for her cast. She is a wonderful baker, and Nick is a great freestyle rapper.
Ethan: Yes, he is.
Lindsey: Nick is amazing at throwing down a little verse.

SO-M: If you had to sum up these ten episodes and tell people why they should watch, what would you say to them?
Lindsey: I think you should watch because you’re going to be more entertained by this than anything else that’s on Mondays… at 8:00pm… on ABC Family.
Ethan: Nice.
Lindsey: Thanks for supplementing that with something, Ethan.
Ethan: Yes, of course.
Lindsey: That sounds like not a reason to watch. You were supposed to come in with something much better!

The show returns for it’s mid-season premiere on March 29 at 8pm EST. The end of the first ten episodes left us with Kat (Lindsey Shaw) and Patrick (Ethan Peck) locking lips, Bianca (Meaghan Martin) and Joey (Chris Zylka) getting closer, and Chastity (Dana Davis) & Cameron (Nicholas Braun) left all alone. What can fans expect from the 10 new episodes? We’re guessing from the preview: more love (which means more heartbreak), more “kat-fights” (hehe get it?), more drama, and more just all around laughs.

“10 Things” is one of the shows that kept us laughing last year and we can’t wait for the premiere. In the new episode, airing March 29, Kat and Patrick are caught skipping school and both get suspended. How will Kat deal with a suspension after learning it might ruin her GPA, potentially destroying her dream to get into a prestigious college? Meanwhile, Bianca has her own problems after a secret make-out session with Joey is caught on video. Will Chastity watch the security tape before Bianca gets the chance to erase the evidence?

The first half of the season left us wondering if Kat (Lindsey Shaw) and Patrick (Ethan Peck) would be together, how Cameron (Nicholas Braun) would mend his broken heart, and if Bianca (Meaghan Martin) and Joey (Chris Zylka) would get together? Luckily we don’t have to wait too much longer for the answers. “10 Things I Hate About You” returns to ABC Family on March 29 at 8pm EST.

In the premiere episode, titled “Da Repercussions,” Kat and Patrick decide to skip school and head to the beach. Unfortunately the duo get caught and are suspended, but not before they share a romantic moment. Can Kat deal with a suspension after finding out it might screw up her GPA? “10 Things” quickly became one of our favorite new shows of 2009. While many were skeptical because of their love for the original movie, the show proved that it was it’s own entity and kept us laughing and wanting more. Filled with witty humor, a great cast, and wonderful writing, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next 10 episodes. Be sure to tune in.

-”10 Things I Hate About You” star Ethan Peck and singer Aaron Carter were two of the stars to participate in the 11th Annual Day of the Child benefiting Children Uniting Nations on Sunday afternoon. The event, held at the Barker Hangar, is designed to bring awareness and support to the needs of children who, by no fault of their own, are living in and out of home care. The event takes hundreds of high-risk children from foster homes, residential facilities and homeless shelters for a day of fun, games, rides and love with thousands of volunteer mentors.

-”10 Things I Hate About You” star Ethan Peck flashes a big smile at the premiere of Fame on Wednesday night. Ethan and the “10 Things” cast will reunite later this year to film another 10 episodes of the ABC Family show.

What would you like to see happen with Ethan’s character Patrick in the new episodes?

-E! Online has revealed that ABC Family has indeed picked up “10 Things I Hate About You” for another 10 episodes! Lindsey Shaw, Ethan Peck, Dana Davis, Meaghan Martin & Nicholas Braun will all return to give viewers more comedic fun at Padua High.

The season finale left us with Bianca and Chastity becoming friends, Bianca hiding the fact her and Joey have been sneaking around, Cameron trying to get over Bianca and Kat and Patrick riding off on his motorcycle. We can only imagine what’s in store for the new season.

Dana Davis tweeted: Yay for all you 10 things fans! We just got picked up for another 10 episodes.

What would you like to see happen next on “10 Things”?

-The season finale of one of our favorite new shows, “10 Things I Hate About You,” airs tonight on ABC Family at 8pm EST. In the finale episode, “Don’t Leave Me This Way,” Kat (Lindsey Shaw) stages a walkout after Padua High enforces a new security policy and school uniforms, while Cameron (Nicholas Braun) has a difficult time getting over Bianca (Meaghan Martin) who is sneaking around with newly single Joey (Chris Zylka).

We’re still waiting to hear if ABC Family will pick up the show for a second season (we’re hoping they do!), but in the meantime, E! Online spoke with creator and writer Carter Covington to get some insight into the show and what we can expect to see. Check out some highlights below:

How have you evolved Patrick Verona this season?
The evolution of Patrick has been a collaboration between us writers and Ethan. We wanted to do a Jordan Catalano-esque mysterious guy, and then we realized Ethan has this funny, sardonic, sarcastic side to him. We started bringing that out more and more, and we found that it suited both Ethan and the character.

Is there more to Patrick than we’ve seen so far?
Right now we’re deciding what pieces of Patrick’s story to reveal in the next 10 episodes. We want to dole out pieces of his past that explain who Patrick is and why he’s a loner. We’ll learn more about his family. For example, why weren’t they there during the fire? I don’t want to give too much away, but we’re really excited to give people an unexpected history of Patrick Verona.

How far can you go with Kat and Patrick’s romance given the restrictions of the series format and the network?
Well, I read on the message boards that people are like, “Why aren’t they together now?!”

Therefore missing the entire point of the show.
Exactly. The most interesting thing about Kat and Patrick is that the obstacle for them as a couple is themselves—it’s not like one of them is in love with someone else. They like each other, and they can’t get out of their own way to be with each other. Neither one of them is willing to compromise or meet in the middle.

What we hope to do is tell the story of an epic romance between Kat and Patrick that unfolds over the life of the show, so we’re always mindful of not taking things too far.

We were nervous about having them kiss in episode seven, but we wanted to handle it in a way where we acknowledged to the audience that these characters now know that they’re attracted to each other, so there was a feeling of “Oh good, that happened,” but that’s not when they’re going to get together. We’re learning how to dole out those moments so that people feel rewarded without taking all of the steam out of the story.

Now, we must discuss Ms. Bianca. Are Bianca and Chastity (Dana Davis) really becoming friends?
Yes, Bianca and Chastity are really becoming friends, and Chastity’s character has a big evolution over the next 10 episodes. Right now, Chastity is pretty arch. The goal is to start to humanize Chastity more and make her a true friend, but it’s a difficult friendship. Chastity is the queen bee of the school, so how does Bianca have a friendship with this girl who’s not used to having friends? And now that Bianca and Chastity are aligned, what happens as they navigate high school together? I like the idea of telling stories about politics, power politics, through high school.

And Chastity and Bianca bring us to Joey (Chris Zylka), who is the Jason Stackhouse of 10 Things I Hate About You. He’s not so bright, but he’s very sweet, and he and Bianca are really cute together.
Chris as an actor is so good at being dim yet charming…and yet he doesn’t think he’s dim, which I think makes him even more charming. There wasn’t a real love triangle for Bianca in the movie because no one wanted her to be with Joey, but in the TV show, you need both of those characters to have some appeal to the audience. It’s fun to write a guy who usually would be the asshole in the show and make him a nice guy. And that’s our intent: Joey is a good guy with a good heart who thinks the world of Bianca.

Bianca has good luck with nice guys, because she also has Cameron (Nicholas Braun) on the string, but fans seem to be frustrated by that relationship. There’s talk that maybe Cameron’s too stalkery and that it’s hard to watch that pair always fail to connect.
I’ve read that too, and I would like to acknowledge that I’ve heard that criticism, and I see the point that people are making. What we explored with Cameron this season was the blind love that people have in high school. That is now played out. Cameron’s puppy-dog phase for Bianca is over. We’re starting to explore the actual connection between Cameron and Bianca. The next 10 episodes are going to be about Bianca and Cameron finding their way back to friendship. Nick is such a talented actor, and he has so many other layers that I’m excited to show for Cameron.

Everyone says 10 Things I Hate About You should be an hour-long—what are the chances of that happening?
I hear that so often. I don’t think [an expansion to one hour] will happen, but I see why people say that, because our show is a strange hybrid and at times it feels like a drama. But I would rather have 22 minutes fly by than have 44 minutes plod along.

-Meaghan Martin, Lindsey Shaw, and Ethan Peck were reunited at the Disney and ABC Summer Press Party at the Langham Resort in Pasedena on Saturday evening. The cast have finished filming their first season and are hoping for a second season. Meaghan was excited to be reunited with some of the cast. She tweeted: So happy I got to see Lindsey, Larry, Ethan and @comeagainjen tonight! Nothing better than seeing good people- instantly brightened my mood.

-Tonight is the night! ABC Family’s new comedy, “10 Things I Hate About You” premieres tonight at 8pm EST. The show is loosely based on the 1999 movie and is one of our favorite new summer shows. We recently had the chance to visit the set of the show where we had the chance to watch filming, chat with the writer and some of the cast. Before we headed out to the set in Santa Clarita, we had the chance to eat breakfast and chat with Ethan Peck who stars in the show as “Patrick Verona.” Learn more about this 23 year old former NYU student below.

When did you start acting? I was offered to be taken to an audition when I was about 8-years old. And I was a very energetic kid and really open to anything. And I was like, “Yeah, let’s do it. Sure.” And I wanted to have an amazing time because it’s like playing make-believe. [That’s what you get to do], of course, which is kind of amazing. And the audition went really well. I almost got cast, and I’ve been doing it ever since. When I was about 8-years old, did a film when I was ten for Showtime called Marshal Law. And then I had a couple experiences doing commercials, guest stars on television. I played Young Kelso on That ‘70s Show. I had a small cameo on The Drew Carey Show, I mean, little things here and there.

Where are you from? Right here in Hollywood. Born and raised at Sunset and Fairfax.

What’s your favorite trait of your character, Patrick Verona, and what part of your personality do you use most in portraying Patrick Verona? My favorite trait about Patrick is that he’ll give attitude and be, like, flat—I guess the humor that we’re arming Patrick with is, like, flat sarcasm because that’s who he is as a person and that’s, like, what makes him a badass because he’s like—there’s a scene where Cameron—it’s the scene where he’s, like, waiting at a vending machine and the soda won’t fall down, of course. And he’s like, “What the heck?” And Patrick comes up and Cameron’s like, “It won’t drop.” And I’m like, “Your testicles or the soda?” [Laughs]

And the great thing about Patrick is, like, he won’t be like, “Oh, I’m just joking,” which is what I would do. And I love that kind of humor that Patrick just is that. And it’s only funny from an outside observer as opposed to the people involved. But I’d like to think that I have a hold on that sort of flat humor with my friends, what we use.
