Ashley Tisdale Promises Special Cameo in Sharpay Spin-Off

-MTV chatted with Ashley Tisdale this week at the CW Upfronts about her upcoming movie, “Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventures.”

Ashley is not only starring in the flick, but is also an executive producer. So is there any chance that her bff Vanessa Hudgens might make a cameo?

“I know [Vanessa's] super busy because she’s about to promote her movies and stuff,” Ashley shared. “But we definitely do have a special cameo. You just don’t know which character it is. I do. I just can’t tell you. It’s a secret!”

She continued: “We just started doing everything with it. We just started the photo shoots. I’ve been in wardrobe. I leave in like four days for Toronto. It’s a character that’s kind of underneath my skin.”

Ashley also said that this film will show a new side of the character. “You just take her out whenever you need to. I do think of her as her own person, but it’s a lot of fun. The script shows Sharpay in a totally different light. Everyone’s in college. She’s in New York City trying to fulfill her dreams on Broadway.”

FIRST LOOK – Hellcats

-Aly Michalka ices her injuries while Ashley Tisdale looks on in this new still from the CW’s new show “Hellcats.”

It was announced this morning that “Hellcats” will be joining the network on Wednesday nights at 9pm following “America’s Next Top Model.”

The show is a coming-of-age story about Marti Perkins, a young, pre-law student at Lancer University in Memphis, Tennessee. Marti is cool, hip and alt, but her world flips upside down, literally and figuratively, when she loses her scholarship, and realizes the only way she can stay in school is by reigniting her dormant teen gymnastic skills to win a place on Lancer’s legendary cheerleading team, The Hellcats. Against her every instinct, Marti goes for it and makes the squad, and is thrust into a world of camaraderie, backstabbing and the intersection of sports, backroom academia and big money. Marti’s new roommate, Savannah Monroe, a petite, peppy Texan, is among the diverse cast of athletes, undergrads, family and friends, all set on the sprawling campus of a powerhouse college football program in the deep South.

The series stars Aly Michalka as Marti Perkins, Ashley Tisdale as Savannah Monroe, Heather Hemmens as Alice Verdura, Robbie Jones as Lewis Flynn, Matt Barr as Dan Patch, with Sharon Leal as Vanessa Lodge and Gail O’Grady as Wanda Perkins. HELLCATS is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Tom Welling Productions, Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios with executive producers Kevin Murphy (“Desperate Housewives”), Tom Welling (“Smallville”) and Allan Arkush (“Heroes,” “Crossing Jordan”). The pilot was directed by Allan Arkush.

Ashley Tisdale is Returning as Sharpay Evans!

-Ashley Tisdale will be reprising her role as Sharpay Evans in a new Disney Channel Original Movie.

It was just announced that Ashley will star in a spin-off of the popular High School Musical series called “Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventures.” We’ve also heard the movie will be called “Broadway Bound.”

Filming is set to begin filming in Toronto on June 1, 2010. In the movie, the Sharpay realizes her dream and moves to New York with her pet dog Boi after being discovered by a talent scout. Once there however, Sharpay quickly finds out that making it big in the Big Apple is not as easy as she thought and she has to temper her expectations somewhat if she’s going to thrive.

High School Musical producers Barry Rosenbush and Bill Borden will also serve as executive producers of Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure. “In Sharpay, Ashley Tisdale brought to life one of the most memorable comedic characters we’ve seen in years,” said Gary Marsh, president of entertainment and chief creative officer for Disney Channels Worldwide in a statement. “This movie captures the absolutely perfect next chapter in Sharpay’s life, as she tries to cultivate the humanity buried, deep, deep within her – a challenging and hilarious endeavor.”

-Ashley Tisdale stepped out for Perez Hilton’s 32nd “Carn-Evil” birthday party at Paramount Studios on Saturday evening.

Ashley kept it casual in a Led Zepplin t-shirt and silver leggings. The 24-year-old is busy preparing for her role in the CW pilot “Hellcats.” She plays Sierra, the peppy and fiercely intense captain of the Hellcats who, after an initial clash with Marti, her new roommate, realizes that she just might be the godsend the Hellcats need to win the championship.

Ashley also attended the premiere of The Last Song on Thursday.

-”High School Musical” co-stars Ashley Tisdale & Monique Coleman reunited on the red carpet at the premiere of The Last Song in Hollywood on Thursday night.

Ashley showed off her brunette locks at the premiere. She was also spotted earlier in the day leaving some stores and a salon. Ashley dyed her hair back to brunette for her role in the CW pilot “Hellcats.”

The show also stars Aly Michalka. Ashley plays Sierra, the peppy and fiercely intense captain of the Hellcats who, after an initial clash with Marti, her new roommate, realizes that she just might be the godsend the Hellcats need to win the championship.

Ashley Tisdale: Burberry Prorsum Fashion Show

-Ashley Tisdale wears her 3D glasses while checking out the Burberry Prorsum 2010 womenswear show in 3D in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Ashley has been busy recording more episodes of Disney Channel’s “Phineas & Ferb” and recently became an aunt. Her niece, Mikayla Dawn, was born on February 13. Congrats Ashley!

Update: Ashley will also be starring in the remake of Teen Witch, which originally starred Robyn Lively. Ashley revealed to HollywoodLife.com that this version will be more musical. Yes, that means, she WILL be singing.

She also shared, “The plan is to start filming at the end of the year, so you can expect it will be a lot more modern than the original.”

-Tonight, Hollywood is coming together for the special Hope for Haiti Now Telethon. The telethon was organized by George Clooney and will feature more than 130 of Hollywood’s biggest stars , who will be answering phones, performing, and raising awareness about the devastation in Haiti. The event takes place TONIGHT at 8pm EST and will air on numerous networks including MTV, E!, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, BET, The CW, HBO, VH1, CMT, PBS, TNT, Showtime, COMEDY CENTRAL, Bravo and many more.

If you don’t have a TV or cable, you can stream it online at myspace.com and also Eonline.com. Stars expected to lend a helping hand include Zac Efron, Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens, Kevin Jonas, Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas, Selena Gomez, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and many more. The show will also feature performances by Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Jay-Z, Dave Matthews, and many more.

MTV News caught up with George Clooney recently to talk about the event. He shared the main goal is to raise money: “That’s it … just first and foremost that we can raise a lot of money,” he said. “If I thought that we could all pick up shovels and go in there and not be in the way, I think a lot of people would do that.”

Apple, the record labels and the artists will donate their share of the proceeds to Haiti relief funds managed by “Hope for Haiti Now” charities.

Clooney said the opportunity to purchase music after the telethon will help increase the longevity of the event. “We’re gonna have 18 songs, and you’re gonna get to hear Jennifer Hudson sing a song you never heard her sing before,” he said. “John Legend is singing ‘Motherless Child’; it’s just great. We’re gonna have some amazing performances, and I think that’s gonna make it last a little longer than just a telethon.”
