Cole Sprouse & Haley Lu Richardson were joined by director Justin Baldoni for the premiere of their new movie Five Feet Apart last week in Los Angeles.

The film follows Stella Grant (Richardson) & Will Newman (Sprouse), two opposites with one big thing in common – they both have cystic fibrosis. There’s an instant flirtation, though restrictions dictate that they must maintain a safe distance between them. As their connection intensifies, so does the temptation to throw the rules out the window and embrace that attraction. Further complicating matters is Will’s potentially dangerous rebellion against his ongoing medical treatment. Stella gradually inspires Will to live life to the fullest, but can she ultimately save the person she loves when even a single touch is off limits?

Haley said at the premiere that the moment that inspired the title where Stella takes back a foot from the six foot restriction was the part she “cries at because it resonates so much.” The cast also hopes the movie will inspire others and Cole also added that the question of if companionship is capable without touch was one of the things that intrigued him the most about this film.

That question will be answered when Five Feet Apart hits theaters March 15, 2019.
