You’ve met the Liars, now get ready to meet the Perfectionists.
Freeform’s upcoming pilot, “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists,” will reunite our favorite Rosewood bad girls turned pretty good girls Mona (Janel Parrish) & Alison (Sasha Pieterse) in the town of Beacon Heights.
We learned at the beginning of the year that “Descendants” star Sofia Carson would be joining the cast as Ava who is described as a trendsetting blogger and coder who strives to be a fashion icon. She was the first of the Perfectionist trio to be announced and now we know who will round out the rest of the cast.
Freeform announced that Sydney Park (“The Walking Dead,” “Instant Mom”) will star as Caitlin. Caitlin is described as smart, driven and thrives under pressure. The perfect daughter of two perfect mothers, Caitlin has set her sights on following in her mother’s Senatorial footsteps.
Newcomer Eli Brown will play Dylan. Dylan, a gifted cellist, grew up feeling judged in his small hometown and now feels the need to be the best in all of his endeavors. He is deeply committed to his two passions, his music and his boyfriend, Andrew.
Hayley Erin (“General Hospital”) has also been cast in a mysterious, unnamed role and we feel like that means her character could bring some trouble to town, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Rounding out the cast is someone who knows a thing or two about high school drama. Kelly Rutherford starred on “Gossip Girl” and now she’s heading to “The Perfectionists” as Claire Hotchkiss. The matriarch of the Hotchkiss family, Claire (along with her husband) is the founder of Hotchkiss Industries and the respected Beacon Heights University. Claire believes perfection is attainable and is the person who pulls the strings behind the scenes to get what she wants.
“Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists,” is based on the popular book series “The Perfectionists,” written by Sara Shepard, who also penned the No. 1 New York Times bestselling book series “Pretty Little Liars.” Everything about the town of Beacon Heights seems perfect, from their top-tier college to their overachieving residents, but nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town’s first murder. Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie and a needed alibi.
“Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” is produced by Alloy Entertainment and Long Lake Media in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television. I. Marlene King (“Pretty Little Liars,” “Famous in Love”) wrote the pilot and serves as executive producer with Charlie Craig (“Pretty Little Liars,” “The 100”), Lisa Cochran-Neilan (“Pretty Little Liars,” “Famous in Love”), Leslie Morgenstein (“Pretty Little Liars,” “The Vampire Diaries”) and Gina Girolamo (“The 100,” “The Originals”).
The cast is hard at work on the pilot now and shared some photos together once the cast announcement was made. Fingers crossed Freeform picks up the pilot so we can see what they’re creating! Are you excited?
