Before he stole our hearts with his voice and Youtube videos, Troye Sivan dabbled in acting. In fact, you might have seen him playing a young Wolverine in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Now he’s heading back to the big screen and he’s surrounded by a pretty amazing cast.

Troye has joined the cast of Boy Erased, a coming-of-age and coming-out drama written and directed by Joel Edgerton. The film is based on Boy Erased: A Memoir of Identity, Faith and Family by Garrard Conley. Troye, Cherry Jones, Flea, Xavier Dolan, Emily Hinkler, Jesse LaTourette, David Joseph Craig, Theodore Pellerin & Britton Sear are the latest cast members to join the film. And yes, that is Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. They join already announced Lucas Hedges, Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman & Edgerton, himself.

The film will tell the story of Jared (Hedges), the son of a Baptist pastor in a small American town, who is outed to his parents (Kidman and Crowe) at age 19. Jared is faced with an ultimatum: attend a gay conversion therapy program – or be permanently exiled and shunned by his family, friends, and faith. Boy Erased is the true story of one young man’s struggle to find himself while being forced to question every aspect of his identity.
