Freeform is adding another Marvel property to their upcoming lineup!

Olivia Holt & Aubrey Joseph will star in the upcoming Marvel series “Cloak & Dagger” and while that show will be a drama, a new Marvel comedy has been picked up too.

According to THR, Freeform has given the 30-minute comedy “New Warriors” a straight to series order. The show will revolve around six young people with powers living and working together. These heroes want to make a difference in the world, but they’re more of “newcomers” to a world full of powers. “New Warriors” will explore the journey into adulthood, except in this world, they’re not quite super and not yet heroes and the guys can be as terrifying as bad dates.

DC currently has a half hour comedy airing called “Powerless” starring Vanessa Hudgens, so this show might be Marvel’s response and they’re definitely gearing towards a younger audience.

One of the 6 “new warriors” will be fan favorite Squirrel Girl (aka Doreen Green). We can’t wait to hear which other Marvel heroes will join the show, and more importantly, who will play them!

“New Warriors” has been picked up for 10 episodes and will premiere in 2018.
