After more than 3 busy weeks in Rio for the 2016 Olympics, the Final Five are officially back in the US and their first stop – the TODAY show!
Aly Raisman, Simone Biles, Madison Kocian, Gabby Douglas & Laurie Hernandez, aka the Final Five aka the most successful US Women’s gymnastics team, reunited with their TODAY BFF Hoda and talked about the burning question that everyone has been asking them – who will return in 4 years for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The girls gave the best answer ever and decided to raise all their hands. “Everyone raise their hands because we’re all going again,” Simone told the girls. Unfortunately, at the next Olympics, only 4 gymnasts will compete per country, but Aly was quick to say, “we’re going to cheat and do five” while Laurie joked that Simone will be “the new Martha.” We would definitely love to see all these girls back in 4 years.
The Final Five also talked about already being paparazzi’d and how excited they are to go home and see their dogs. Usher was also a guest on the show and the ladies fangirled a little when he arrived. “Usher just tried on my gold medal. NBD,” Aly tweeted while the others shared adorable pics.
The girls are currently on an NYC press tour before getting a bit of rest and heading into rehearsals for the Kelloggs Tour of Champions. Be sure to catch them on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon tonight and watch their TODAY interview below.
