taylorswift-monde-093014Taylor Swift sat down for a great interview on Tout Le Monde En Parle over the weekend. In the 15 minute interview, Taylor opened up about moving from country to pop, feminism and more.

On leaving Country music: I’ve just decided to go for it because that was the gut feeling I got. As a songwriter, I try to stay really open to intuition and inspiration and impulses. I knew I needed to make this album the way it has turned out. I knew I wanted it to be different from every album that I’ve done before. Out of respect for the Country music community who I love and adore, I felt it was best to just be honest with them about what the album was…it is a pop album.

On feminism & Emma Watson: I wish when I was 12 years old, I had been able to watch a video of my favorite actress explaining in such an intellectual, beautiful poignant way the definition of feminism. Because I would have understood it and then earlier on in my life I would have proudly claimed that I was a feminist. I just think that a lot of girls don’t know the definition and the fact that Emma got up and explained it, I think it’s an incredible thing and I am happy to live in a world where that happened.
