“Dancing With the Stars” kicked off its 18th season on Monday night with a bang!
Past and present teen idols competed with athletes and reality stars in hopes to take home this year’s mirror ball trophy. James Maslow and Cody Simpson are representing the younger crowd on the show and both started off well.
James and his partner Peta Murgatroyd did a foxtrot to One Direction’s “Story of My Life” for their first dance. The two had been spotted out together in February before the stars for the new season were announced and Peta’s reaction to James walking through the rehearsal space door for the first time. The two claim to be just friends right now and James said they’re keeping it professional but he would love to take her on another date. Hmmm…so he confirmed the two had been on a date. Interesting.
James and Peta landed a 21 while fellow heartthrob Cody Simpson earned a 22 with his partner Witney Carson. The two danced the to Kesha & Pitbull’s “Timber.” Cody can definitely shake his hips and he was supported by his girlfriend Gigi Hadid & Alli Simpson in the ballroom.
Gold medalist Charlie White earned the highest score of the night with a 27 while Candace Cameron Bure followed closely behind with a 25. Who will you be voting for? The first couple will be eliminated on next Monday’s show. Be sure to cast your votes! Cast them now online at www.ABC.com and on Facebook at https://apps.facebook.com/votedwts/.
