Are you still bummed that Tyler and Caroline broke up on “The Vampire Diaries” and Tyler decided he needed to leave Mystic Falls…again?
Well, have no fear because Michael Trevino will be back on TV soon and is the first of the TVD cast to head over to “The Originals.” Michael told EW that Tyler will be showing up “sometime soon.”
Tyler will be heading to New Orleans to seek out vengeance for Klaus killing his mother and Michael said filming the breakup was tough for him. “It was actually really tough on both of us. In these scenes where Caroline and Tyler are going their separate ways, it’s usually that one of us is emotional and one isn’t. On this one, both of us were emotional. There were a few more takes than how it regularly goes between Candice and I.”
Michael also addressed the fact that Tyler finally returned to TVD to announce that he was leaving again. “A lot of fans are upset that Tyler has made the decision to leave as soon as he shows up. I’m getting a little bit of flack for it on the Twitterverse here. I just want to say everything will be explained, and I think Tyler will make it good once he shows up to The Originals…. I think everybody will be happy with Tyler’s reasoning when they see what he’s been up to and what he has planned.”
So, now that we know that Tyler will be in New Orleans, what kind of answers will we get? Julie Plec told THR, “The crossover is happening very soon. It will answer a couple of questions, one of which is answering the first piece of the mystery of the protective wolf.”
Co-executive producer Michael Narducci added: “It also will introduce a lot more questions. A lot of things will come out of the crossover that are going to shake things up among the core group dynamic of the Original family and there will be a whole storyline that will come out of where that crossover leads them geographically and where it leads them when they’re there. There’s a lot of stuff that’s about to be introduced.”
Julie also added that the Tyler crossover episode will let us learn more about his fellow werewolf Hayley. “One of the big things that Hayley has been asking herself quietly, and the whole thing that brought her to New Orleans in the first place, was trying to get answers about what bloodline she came from, what the mystery of this mark on her shoulder means,” Plec said. “The one thing that Tyler does offer in his presence as he sets foot in this world is answers and more information. He takes her to a place out in the bayou where she’s going to start to understand a little bit of where she comes from.”
