Aly & AJ Michalka Debut 78Violet with First Performance in Five Years at the Roxy
We have been waiting for new music from Aly and AJ Michalka for five years and the time has finally arrived!
The duo, known as 78Violet, played their first show in five years at the Roxy on Wednesday night and we were there!
The two played a total of eight songs during their showcase which included a number of new songs including their single “Hothouse” and a cover of Filter’s “Take a Picture.” To close the night, the two dug into their archive and played a new (and beautiful) version of “Potential Breakup Song.”
The girls had the support from fans, family and friends at the show which included famous faces like Brenda Song, Nick Jonas, David Henrie, Dan Byrd, and Shane West. We definitely cannot wait to hear all of their new album and fans in NYC are in for a treat when the girls perform on July 9.
Take a look at our exclusive photos and some video below. We also have to say we love the throwback Thursday Aly posted of her and AJ with Joe Jonas. The caption reads “#throwbackthursday @adamjosephj making the album in 2012.” We love how they are all friends after all these years.
What was your favorite performance of 78Violet from their showcase? DOn’t forget that the single “Hothouse” is available on iTunes July 8.
