Demi Lovato Plays Kittyoke, Naughty Charades, Talks Directing, Selena Gomez and More with MTV
Demi Lovato gives a smile during her stop at the Sirius XM studios in NYC on Tuesday.
Demi stopped by the station to chat about her new album, which is in stores TODAY!
In addition, Demi spent a half hour with MTV for MTV First where she not only played a hilarious game of kittyoke (yes, that’s karaoke with only meow sounds), but she also opened up about getting super person on her album Demi.
“I feel like if you’re only singing other people’s songs, it makes it harder for people to understand your story and relate,” she said. “It was my goal to write every single song on the album, and then I fell in love with songs I didn’t write.”
One song, in particular, that she dished on was “Shouldn’t Come Back.” “There was a turning point in the song where it was about one thing, but I was like, ‘I want to try something new.’ So I just like, sang, kind of free-styled the lyrics, and I just changed the song completely. And my producers in the studio were like, ‘Whoa, this just got heavy.'”
Demi’s longtime pal Selena Gomez has been singing Demi’s praise during her recent press tour and Demi returned the love. “I love her single… When it comes on the radio I turn it up really loud and tell everyone to shut up,” Demi shared.
