While Alex Pettyfer might not have landed the lead role in Divergent like many predicted, he has landed another leading role!
THR is reporting that Alex and Gabriella Wilde are in final negotiations to take on the lead roles of David and Jade in the remake of the 1981 film starring Brooke Shields and Martin Hewitt. The film is based on the book of the same name by Scott Spencer and tells the story of high school senior David Axelrod who falls for a younger girl, Jade Butterfield. When her parents become concerned about their fast-paced passionate relationship, they force them to breakup leaving David to cause one obsessive act that will change their lives forever.
It was rumored that Australian Brenton Thwaites would land the role since he screen tested with Gabriella and the other potential which included Sarah Bolger, Olivia Cooke and Sophie Lowe.
Endless Love will be directed by Shana Feste and Scott Stuber and Pam Abdy of Bluegrass Films and Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage of Fake Empire are producing.
