mtvmovieawards-noms-030513The 2013 MTV Movie Awards are right around the corner and the list of nominees have just been announced!

So which movies/actors will be vying for the coveted golden popcorn statues? Django Unchained and Ted lead with 7 nominations each, Silver Linings Playbook grabbed six nods and The Dark Knight Rises nabbed five. The show will be hosted by the hilarious Rebel Wilson and voting begins Tuesday, March 5 at MovieAwards.MTV.com through Saturday, April 13.

Airing LIVE on Sunday, April 14 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT from the Sony Pictures Studios Lot in Culver City, CA, the “2013 MTV Movie Awards” will serve as the official kick off to the Summer Blockbuster season with its trademark irreverent celebration of the movies, actors and music that audiences love. Previously announced, rising superstar Rebel Wilson, nominated for “Best Female Performance” and “Breakthrough Performance” as Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect, will star as host and be joined by MTV’s Inaugural “Comedic Genius Award” recipient Will Ferrell, who is nominated for “Best On-Screen Duo” with Zach Galifianakis for The Campaign.

Other standout nominations include Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Watson & The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Magic Mike, and Pitch Perfect.

Emma Watson earned nominations for “Best Female Performance,” “Best Kiss,” and “Best Musical Moment” and said of the honor, “I am so excited to have been nominated for three MTV Movie Awards for Perks of Being a Wallflower! I love the show and I love this movie! I’m so thrilled.”

    I think MTV missed the ball on the Shirtless performance for TDKR. Bale was 165 pounds of 2 minute nothing. Tom Hardy bulked up to 200 pounds of rock solid terrifying muscle and exerted that like an extra super power in the first introduction to Bane!
