Rumors surfaced this weekend that Mia Wasikowska and Zoe Aggeliki are in the running for the coveted role of Johanna Mason in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and now it looks like another name is in the mix.
EW is reporting that veteran actress Jena Malone is now in talks to take on the tough girl role. Mia has actually not been approached for the role nor would she be available to shoot the film EW confirmed.
Johanna Mason is described in Catching Fire as having “a wicked ability to murder,” winning her Hunger Games by pretending to be weak and then picking off the other tributes. Johanna also rocks some spiky hair and is more fierce than first expected.
Jena has previously rocked the short hair do, so we know that isn’t a problem and she has taken on tough fighting roles in movies like Sucker Punch.
