Kellan Lutz may already star in one of the most successful movie franchises (Twilight), but he has his eye on another.
Back in February, news came out that Kellan really wanted to be a part of The Hunger Games, but “producers told him they didn’t want anyone from Twilight.”
Kellan didn’t audition, but that hasn’t stopped him from expressing his love for the series and movies. Last night at Us Weekly’s Hot Hollywood Party, Kellan told E! News, “I love the script, I love the movie, everything about it!”
“I got hooked reading all those books,” he continued. “I remember before they ever started making a movie, I was like, “I would love to be a part of this!'”
Kellan’s name has popped up on polls where fans would like him to play the role of Finnick Odair in Catching Fire. We could see that!
So what about all those comparisons between The Hunger Games and Twilight? “I feel like Twilight’s kind of more girly and on the romance side and lacks the action and then Hunger Games is very much an action-packed movie that lacks some of the romance,” Kellan said.
“But those stories, it shows that you don’t have to stick to one certain formula,” he said. “If you have these keys ingredients in the caldron it will make a great movie. It’s great that there’s fans for both of them.”
