Angelina Jolie is set to bring Disney’s ultimate villain, Maleficent, to life in Walt Disney Studio’s live-action film Maleficent.
The studio just announced that the movie will be coming to theaters March 14, 2014. The live-action film explores the origins of the evil fairy Maleficent and what led her to curse Princess Aurora in Disney’s animated classic Sleeping Beauty. Sounds intriguing! Rumors are that Elle Fanning will take on the role of Princess Aurora.
In other movie news, another highly anticipated movie, Ender’s Game, has had its release date pushed back from March 13, 2013 to November 1, 2013. It will now open just a few weeks before The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire, which opens November 22.
Lionsgate and Summit hope to boost interest in Ender’s Game by opening it so closely to Catching Fire by using it to publicize Ender’s Game.
