While we’re still trying to get over the fact that Mark Schwahn’s show “One Tree Hill” is coming to an end next week, we can look forward to his new pilot collaboration with JJ Abrams called “Shelter.”
Deadline announced some exciting news today regarding the leads – Zachary Abel and Malese Jow have landed lead roles! Zachary is best known for roles on “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” and “Make It or Break It” while Malese has most recently been seen on “The Vampire Diaries” as fan favorite Anna and “Big Time Rush.”
“Shelter” is set at historic New England summer resort Shelter Bay where the new and returning staff attend to the practical, emotional and often comical needs of the guests while navigating friendships, rivalries and romances of their own.
Zachary will star as the hopelessly romantic Mitchell Taylor, a 23-year-old former local baseball hero who now works the concierge desk at the Shelter Bay Inn while Malese will play Morgan, the resident party girl.
The pilot is currently being filmed in North Carolina. The show sounds so good and looks like it could be a good substitute for all the “One Tree Hill” fans who will be missing the show when it ends.
Congrats Zachary and Malese!
