The Hunger Games is a bonafide hit!

The movie opened to the third biggest opening of all time bringing in $155 million in the US. The movie is third in all-time openings behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2 ($169.2 million) and The Dark Knight ($158.4 million). It’s also the best debut ever for a non-sequel.

That means Katniss is the queen of the Box Office. The movie fared better than all the Twilight openings. Of course, come November, we still have Breaking Dawn Part 2. The Hunger Games made $19.7 million on midnight showings alone followed by $68 million on Friday. Impressive!

Looks like celebs flocked to see the movie too including Taylor Swift, Dianna Agron, Debby Ryan, Ashley Benson, Selena Gomez, Kevin McHale, Kristen Bell, and more.

We saw it twice this weekend. Did you see it?
