Selena Gomez recently hung up her “Wizards of Waverly Place” shoes and is now moving on to more movie roles, many of which seem dark.
Selena is set to star in the ensemble cast of Spring Breakers which will show the 19-year-old partying, getting involved with a drug dealer, and going to jail. She’s also set to make a cameo in the Eli Roth starring thriller Aftershock. If you are familiar with Eli, then you know he does dark horror movies usually.
She also has a few other projects lined up which also include the big screen adaptation of Jay Asher’s book 13 Reasons Why about a girl who has committed suicide and leaves tapes behind for her loved ones to explain why she took her life and the impact they each made.
We’re so used to seeing Selena play kid friendly roles like she did in Monte Carlo and “Wizards of Waverly Place,” so it will be very interesting to see if Selena will be able to graduate into these more adult roles.
We want to know if you think Selena will be able to make the transition and which of her upcoming projects you’re most excited for!
