-When Disney Channel announced it’s 2010-2011 lineup last month, one of the new Original Movies on the lineup was “Avalon High.”

According to Variety, the movie is now filming in New Zealand and Britt Robertson from the CW’s “Life Unexpected” has landed the lead role. Starring are: Britt Robertson as Allie Pennington, Gregg Sulkin as Will Wagner, Joey Pollari (Disney XD’s “Skyrunners”) as Miles, Devon Graye (“Dexter”) as Marco, Molly Quinn (“Castle”) as Jen, Christopher Tavarez (“Big Momma’s House 2”) as Lance, and Steve Valentine (“I’m in the Band,” “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie,” “Crossing Jordan”) as Mr. Moore.

Guess we know what Gregg is doing in New Zealand now. The project is filming now and is expected to premiere later this Fall. The movie is based on the book of the same name by Meg Cabot, author of the “The Princess Diaries” tomes. Script was penned by Julie Sherman Wolfe, and pic will be helmed by Stuart Gillard.

The story follows Allie who, after transferring to Avalon High, is shocked to discover that her new classmates are reincarnations of King Arthur and his Court. The deeper Allie searches these interesting parallels between the past and the present, the more sure she is that her school is a contemporary Camelot, and it’s up to her to solve the mystery before the notorious traitor Mordred wins again.

Looks like Disney Channel has a full schedule of Original Movies this year. “16 Wishes,” “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam,” “Den Brother,” and the newly announced “Lemonade Mouth” are also set to premiere this year.
