Walk Now for Autism Raises $1.14 Million

-Katelyn Tarver, Daniel Samonas, Taylor Spreitler, Shane Harper, Jansen Panettiere and more all came out to the Pasadena Rose Bowl on Saturday for the 8th Annual Walk Now for Autism Speaks Event. The event raised $1,147,663

The event was powered by volunteers and families with loved ones on the autism spectrum and the money raised will help generate vital funds for autism research, awareness and family services. Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disorder, with 1% of the population affected.

Besides a charity walk, the event offered many activites for families and kids as well as appearances by celebrities like Rodney & Holly Robinson Peete, James Denton, Daniel Samonas (Wizards of Waverly Place), Josh Sussman (GLEE), Jansen Panettiere (The Perfect Game), Taylor Spreitler (Days of Our Lives), Shane Harper (Good Luck Charlie), Ryan Ochoa (The Perfect Game), Sammi Hanratty (American Girl Movie), Billy Unger (Adventures of Billy Stone), Eli Myers (Victorious), Matthew Timmons (Suite Life on Deck), Zoe Myers (Recording Artist), Joey Luthman, (iCarly Movie), Austin Anderson,(Radio Disney), Leon Thomas (Victorious), Brandon Jay (Moonfaces) and Katelyn Tarver (Big Time Rush). It also featured a performance by Savvy & Mandy.

Autism Speaks is the world’s largest autism advocacy organization, increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders, funding research into the causes, prevention and treatments for autism, and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
