–Miley Cyrus shakes hands with Queen Elizabeth at the Royal Variety Performance in Blackpool on Monday evening. The 17-year-old performed for the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh along with Lady Gaga, Alexandra Burke, Michael Buble, Mika and more. Miley opened the show and performed “Party in the USA.” Miley was excited to meet the Queen. When she spoke with Zach Sang from Sweeet!Radio recently, she said, “I’ve never met her. It’s going to be cool. I’d love to teach her the ‘Hoedown Throwdown.'” Miley was also super excited about meeting Lady Gaga. She apparently updated her MileyWorld blog saying “I met Lady Gaga!” multiple times.
The Opera House is the largest theatre outside London, and hosted 3000 people for the charity gala evening. Proceeds from the show will go to the Entertainment Artists’ Benevolent Fund, which cares for entertainers who need help as a result of old age, ill-health, or hard times.
