Taylor Swift Reads Gossip Blogs

-Taylor Swift is an avid reader of Gossip Blogs like Perez Hilton and JustJared! She recently spoke with People Magazine. Check it out below. Taylor will also be the only country artist performing at the American Music Awards on Sunday. Also scheduled to perform are the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, New Kids On The Block, Kanye West, Christina Aguilera and a ton more!

Taylor Swift admits it – she’s a sucker for celeb gossip too.

“I go on blogs all the time,” Swift tells CMT host Katie Cook in Taylor Swift: Insider Special Edition, airing on CMT Thanksgiving Day at 10 a.m. ET.

“I like to go on Just Jared and Perez Hilton and see what’s going on with celebrities,” she says. “I like to have things to talk about.”

Adds Swift, 18: “I’m in the makeup chair a lot talking to people and I’m like, ‘So, did you hear that so-and-so was dating so-and-so and that they were seen last night and that they ordered salads?'”

The country star says she gets the fascination with famous folks.

“It’s not like you can just make movies and sing songs and people aren’t going to want to know who you’re dating and where you’re eating,” says Swift. “I’m curious about that too. I’ll admit that.”

So even if she’s the subject of the gossip – for instance, her breakup with Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers – Swift can shrug it off.

“I don’t have issues with showing up on those blogs, as long as it’s not too mean,” she says. “It’s like, ‘Yeah, I ate a salad last night. That’s okay if you know that.'”

She adds that so far, the blogs “have been really nice to me. I’ve been lucky.”

What’s not always so nice? Anonymous comments by blog readers.

“I just try to ignore the ‘I hate her, she’s ugly’ ones,” she tells CMT. “When people can be anonymous, they’re vicious and it’s like sixth grade stuff like on crack. It’s terrible.”

Still, Swift, whose sophomore album Fearless just topped the Billboard charts by selling 592,000 copies in its first week, recently told PEOPLE that the spotlight won’t affect the way she goes about her business.

“I just try to have fun no matter who’s got a camera pointed at me,” she says. “I’m not the girl who goes out to clubs and parties, but if I’m walking down the street with a guy and someone takes a picture, I’m not going to freak out and get my publicist to make them erase it. I live my life in spite of the attention.”
